UFC 133 Co-Headliner Change Up. Franklin/Lil Nog Dropped, Belfort/Akiyama Promoted.

After the main event suffered a minor set back with undefeated former 4x All-American wrestler Phil Davis injuring one of his knees and being forced out, and as a result former Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz was brought in on three weeks notice to take on fellow former champ Rashad Evans in his place. The main card has now suffered a second set back after co-main event competitor Antonio Rogerio Nogueira injured his shoulder while training for his upcoming bout with former Middleweight champion Rich Franklin. Quickly looking for a suitable replacement, the UFC was unable to find a competitor to take the place of Lil' Nog and have now pulled Franklin from the card completely. As a result the midway bout on the main card pitting former Light Heavyweight champ Vitor Belfort against Japanese MMA star Yoshihiro Akiyama will now be promoted to take the place as co-main event, while the Welterweight bout between veterans of the sport Brian Ebersole and Denis Hallman will be promoted from the preliminary card to the main card to fill it up completely with five bouts.
